CHEMOTHERAPY (CHE) SIG
STRATEGIC PLAN 2006-2009 Mission Statement
The mission of the Chemotherapy Special Interest Group (SIG) is to promote excellence in the oncology nursing practice of chemotherapy administration and symptom management and to support the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) mission statement. Furthermore, the Chemotherapy SIG will:
- Develop products, services, opportunities and a knowledge base that promotes excellence in oncology nursing.
- Identify and respond to the needs of Chemotherapy SIG members
- Serve as a forum for communication of clinical and research issues and educational resources
- Increase utilization of SIG members as resources
- Increase resources in order to ensure the continued growth and strength of the Oncology Nursing Society.
- Develop recruitment and retention strategies
- Maintain and accumulate SIG archives
- Assist members in developing writing and public speaking skills
